Registration Open for 14th International Workshop on Micropiles

Registration is open for ISM’s 14th International Workshop on Micropiles (IWM) taking place August 21-23, 2019, at the Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach hotel on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, one hour south of Brisbane.

The workshop includes lectures, discussions and panel sessions on all aspects of micropile technology including:

  • Local case histories
  • Load testing
  • Innovative applications
  • Challenging ground conditions
  • Research
  • Value engineered solutions
  • Structural retrofitting
  • Safety
  • Installation methods

In addition to the technical program, the workshop features the 10th annual Lizzi Lecture delivered by Allen W. Cadden, P.E., D.GE, Schnabel Engineering; the presentation of the 8th Lizzi Scholarship award; and the third World Cup of Micropiles, which is an international competition to select the best micropile project in the world.

Allan Herse, CPEng, engineering manager of PCA, is chairing the local organizing committee. PCA currently holds the World Cup of Micropiles title, having won this prestigious award in 2017 at the 13th IWM in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Helen Robinson, P.E., of GEI Consultants, is chairing the program committee, which includes members on four continents.
